The early bird catches the worm
Jack and I had a an early wake-up on Friday 29th as we packed the van and headed up to the Birmingham Wedding Fair. I have never spent much time in this area so it was great to speak to exhibitors and find out more about them and their markets.
We were positioned between the Godminster Cheese stand and a stand selling amazing wedding cake caricatures on the other.
We weren’t too far away from the Bridebook stand, a great website for everything wedding related. It was great to see so many people at the fair. There was a combination of couples, brides-to-be with their entourage of bridesmaids and also lots of parents with their daughters (or as one mother told us ‘bank rollers with their daughters’).
There seemed to be plenty of people also taking full advantage of the prosecco bar…
Friday was the quietest of the days. Nonetheless, business was good and we met two fantastic couples who signed up straight away. Saturday and Sunday were chaos, so many people coming through the fair and lots of great interest in our app.
In the evenings, Jack and I decided to take on the various bars in Resort World. Sadly we ended up with a few beers and an unsuccessful run in the Genting Casino rather late on!
Next stop for us is down in Exeter for the Westpoint Wedding Fair. – I haven’t been back since I was at university there and so am looking forward to seeing what’s changed (probably not much). But still a good excuse for a fun night out.
